No Shit . . .

A word of advice - if you ever have to submit photos of your house to government for any reason, it's probably a good idea to wait and take the picture after your dog has finished taking a shit in the middle of the lawn - and, hence, in the middle of your shot. Believe me, submitting a picture with your dog in mid-squat will not, repeat not, help your case with the city.

It is a little obscure, isn't it?

I am currently doing some work for the Historic Preservation offices in Scottsdale, AZ. The city has a program where residents in historic neighborhoods can apply for funds to help pay for exterior rehab - things like replacing windows, fixing roofs, replacing damaged wall materials, etc. The city will match costs up to $10K. Part of the application process involves submitting a series of photos showing what the money is going to be spent on.

So, the other day I was going through some of the files still in progress (the end of the fiscal year is later this month and I was checking in with the few people who had not yet completed the work). One of the files had a picture showing the applicant's house, complete with one of their dogs in mid-squat. My immediate thought was "You couldn't wait 30 seconds for your dog to finish?" I mean, you're going to submit this to people who you're asking to give you money!
